Ok so I want to show off

I'm currently making a Quilt, which I should be working on now instead of blogging. The Quilt is for a baby boy, the shower is on the 20th of April I hope I make it in time! I need to add another row of three blocks the boarder and of course the back. Those will be in blue 9the same blue on the front. Once again note that the colors captured on my web cam are not very close to what they are in reality. The colors are all bright primary colors The green has vines in the pattern, the blue kind of splochy and wavey, the yellow has , well almost a chicken foot pattern in it and the red has dotted circles. Originaly I was going for earthly elements sun, fire, water, earth, but it's been pointed out that i also managed to pick the four Hogwarts houses. Anyway, since I have to keep the project under raps until the 20th I've been limited on who I can show it to hence the desire to post it here with the knitting (none of my friends know about this journal, this just for those who happen to wonder by)

It's finished!

I hadn't meant to abandon this blog, I haven't been writing in my LJ much either since life at school and work has been busy. I have finished my Irish Hiking scarf though, mostly because I worked on it tons when I went to see the Yarn Harlots book signing. I've posted pictures in the knit along blog but I'll post them again here just because. Oh and my web cam really doesn't take very good pictures the colors are all washed out and you can't see any detail, I'll post some better ones if my friend lets me use her camera.

Oooo lucky new post, to be honest I haven't been doing alot of knitting this winter I've gotten a job along with school and so really I've only got time for sleep school work and work work. But I have made some progress on the hiking scarf I've done about 30 reps total and I estimate I'll need about 55 or so to make the scarf as long as I want it to be (I hope I'll have enough yarn!) I also picked up a knitting kit that reminded me of the book Le Petit Prince. The little prince asks the aviator to draw him a sheep , and this kit is a knit your own sheep kit. Maybe it only makes sense to me. I can't wait to get started on the little sheep, I only hope they don't become cat toys!

Ok I didn't mean it to be so long between posts, I have been working on the Irish Hiking scarf and finally got an email into the blogging group for it's knit along. Yay. I've found that knitting on the bus with a good podcast is the way to go. Mostly I've been listing to Cast-on and Potter cast I've added a few more podcasts tonight so I'll have some new stuff to listen too since I've used up my reserve of podcasts that I hadn't heard yet.

Right now I've got a nice hot pot of tea (Lots of sugar and milk). Tomorrow I'll be regerstering for my classes and panicing about a 8-10page paper due on Friday. I tried to get started on it today but I got nowhere with it, which make me sad I'd rather not spend my Thursday night franticly typing fluff.

This picture is from Thursday Night, I'm quite a bit further now.

Ok I think thats it for now, I really should be doing something productive... I doubt that will happen tonight... well folding laundry is productive...although really productive would be putting the laundry up....

OOO Lookie, Yarn!

Ok I should be in bed I've got classes and a midterm tomorrow, But posting past and current projects seemed like more fun. I don't know if Blogger has a cut feature to it to put pictures behind a link So these will be out in the open I suppose. I'm sorry about the poor quality of these I took them with my web cam, which does not have very good color resolution.
This is my current project, I've just got the itch to knit and this pattern has a Knit-along on Blogger. The color, since you can't tell from the photo is a dark green, I'm using Red Heart yarn from the stash. This will be a purse one day. The pattern is here: http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/brea/brea.html I'm using a yarn made from llama and Alpaca that I got for christmas. the color is a purplish pink with tiny bits of green in it, really pretty and kind of fuzzy . I need to the the bottom of it and the handles...one day...

And this is yet another project on hold, my first sweater(Jumper) A la Hogwarts, it's... well... a bit dull, all the same stitch. Made with Red Heart The MC is Black, With a silver and green stripe.

I'll post more later. I'm off to bed, Night

A Real Post

Hello,
It's strange writing here when I have no idea who will be reading this, hopefully new knitting friends! I've found so many blogger journals that I like that I wanted to join in on and this seemed like a good place to have a knitting Journal, as well as one I can post to when I need to discuss things with people without worrying if they'll get wind of it on LJ. Sometimes You just want to post your honest opinion on something without it coming back to bite you. that's not too often though.

I do not have a digital camera at the moment so projects I do have pictures of are because someone else took a photo of them (normally I beg them to because I've been wanting to do this for a while)

This Journal is pretty bear right now but I'll try to make it pretty (read: fill it up soon)

Kind regards,
Severus
